Kalachakra Practice

The practice of Kalachakra is characterized by a direct approach to uncovering one’s original perfection and purity.    When unrecognised it manifests as Samsara, but when recognised it manifests as Enlighted Reality.  Kalachakra works with the correspondence between the individual, human society, and the natural world.

A unique feature of the Jonang tradition among all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism is it's specialty and focus on Kalachakra practice. All Tibetan traditions revere the Kalachakra as a King of Highest Yoga Tantra, with the Kalachakra Empowerment given many times as a powerful blessing contributing to personal, world and Universal Peace.  It is solely the Jonang tradition, however, that has an extensive lineage of realized masters keeping alive pith practical instructions, both in Deity Sadhana and most essentially, the Kalachakra lineage of highest advanced esoteric stages is complete and held only within the Jonang.  When giving the Kalachakra Empowerments, His Holiness Dalai Lama always points to the Jonang as the lineage holders capable of bestowing these profound highest teachings of the completion stages of practice, that can lead to full enlightenment in one lifetime.
